New Year Changes...

A couple changes we've been working on this year....
Anna is now Laura Ingalls. And I'm Ma. She woke up this morning transformed. She's deciding what would be a nice breakfast for a pioneer girl. I may pull out the quilt kit mom bought them and see if she'd like to work on a patchwork quilt.
I've decided to add a little bit to my dog walking. Instead of just taking him out and bringing him back in, I'm making the extra effort to walk a half-mile at least once a day. He enjoys it, and it's helping me, too. (At least it's making me sore. lol)
AND ~ ~ we've been cleaning out! (I believe I mentioned it yesterday, but it's so much fun I wanted to mention it again. ) I cleaned out another box and bag of things when I got home last night, and while I was up at mom's I cleaned out *9* bags...7 from her bedroom alone! (Does it count as decluttering when you do it to someone else's stuff? lol) The girls are offering up some more of their things, too...Anna especially. Emma's a horder, Anna's not nearly so much. While I was at mom's we had a really funny conversation about the eccentricies of my mom's side of the family. There were 12 kids in her family, and only one didn't get the hoarding gene. Some are worse than others...one of my aunts filled her 12 yr. old's room floor to ceiling with stuff until they couldn't even get in the door. Mom just fills her attic and basement and about once a year I go up and throw it all out. lol My cousin who just moved in with mom was talking about her sister, she said her sister would write a little bit on a scrap of paper, and then never want to throw the paper away. Mom and I laughed and laughed, because we both remember my Grandmother doing that. When she died, we went through piles and piles of little bits of paper..."June 15, 1988. We canned tomatoes today. 18 quarts. Lucille called."... It was so funny to think that a great-granddaughter all the way across the country would have such an odd habit, too.
We agreed, we're an odd family.
