Mom kept the girls, so I have absolutely NOTHING to do (if I ignore the cat's litter boxes) and I could go on to bed...instead, I'm sitting here blogging...fun, isn't it? lol
Today was the last day this week I have to stay with my little brother, but we'll be up there again tomorrow, because it's Mom's b-day{60!} AND she has my girls. Today we came home ASAP when she got home from work, but he had a message on MySpace from a girl he likes and we were going back in that direction to get ice cream so I was going to run it up to him, and when we came in she goes..."I have to run to Wal-Mart, would you care to stay with him?" SO we ended up staying up there until 10:00...from about 6:30. That's kind of a long WM run, isn't it? It's only 13 miles away. Anyway, she brought my older brother's 2 girls home with her (maybe that's what took so long) and my girls wanted to stay with her too. Poor Justus wanted to come home with me, but he can't get up my stairs yet. He is on crutches more and doing quite well on them.
And the earthworm dissection we were going to do today...
I found a couple earthworms this morning, and took them with me, all prepared to disect them and show him the inner workings of an earthworm. I got us all set up on the back porch....showed them all the outside thingys, and prepared to make the first cut. And the thing wriggled! I jumped and screamed, Justus jumped and almost rolled backwards off the porch in the wheelchair, and Anna was sitting there staring at me with her mouth open (she's used to me). Justus said he thought it was biting me or something. I asked him what kind of teeth he thought it had.
That was the end of our attempted dissection. Mom laughed so hard she cried when I told her about it. She wanted to know why we didn't kill it first, and I asked HOW we were supposed to kill an earthworm. Anna said cut it's head off, but when I asked her which end was the head she didn't know, so she suggested we cut both ends off.
Justus had decided NOT to become a doctor, and he said he can tell I'll never be a science teacher.
WHAT a day !
