Queen Anne's Lace Science Experiment

We've been doing science experiments! I came across an article snipped from a magazine, and thought we'd try this...it's so cool!
We used the little measuring cups that come with medicines for the water/food coloring mix, because it needs to be heavy on the color.
The girls were so excited they ran outside in the rain this morning in their pajamas to pick more. We have huge bunches soaking up colored water now.
I asked Daddy if he remembered the similar celery experiments we did in school...why did we never use Queen Anne's Lace? I wondered if it has something to do with when they are blooming...we're going to try to watch and see how long their season goes. It could be something like that, but whatever it is...I like this SO MUCH better than the celery experiment! They are so pretty.
