Emma brought a spider home with her this evening. I think Daddy and I have been bad influences on our girls. lol Both girls went out with Daddy's mother this evening...they went to Daddy's aunt's house to pick up some things for Daddy's father, then to the graveyard to put flowers on the grave of their great-grandmother, then to see an old lady friend of theirs and MIL's. That sounds odd. Anyway, at the graveyard MIL asked Emma to look in the trash can and see if there was a piece of stryofoam to help hold up her flowers, and Emma was getting her one when she spied a black widow spider. She quickly ran to the car and poured out her Gatorade and put the poor unfortunate thing in it. We've got it in a small-animal travel case right now, until or unless we can think of something better. I'm having a dreadful time finding information online about keeping black widow spiders for pets...wonder why? lol Daddy thought we shouldn't keep it...he thought a jar with alcohol would make a nice spot for it, but it was three against one, and we won out. Emma's named her Martha. She's spinning a web now, and when she gets it done a bit, we're going to go out and catch a moth for her. I have no idea how much or what to feed her. Or if we're supposed to give her water. Daddy said he thought she'd get the water from her food, but I don't know. I'd hate to make a mistake and find her shriveled up. lol
