My sister had the most bizarre day. This morning at 2:00 she looked out her back door and there was a deer standing there. It just stood and stared and didn't move even when they yelled and tried to scare it. It was still standing there at about 9:30 when she looked out again. Her neighbours from up the road were standing looking at it, and when she opened her door and told them it was there at 2 in the morning it started running around in circles then fell down. She called twice trying to get someone to come out and put it out of it's misery, and no one ever came.
Then this weird woman pulled up. (By this time the deer was lying in the grass under a tree.) The woman looked at it, and asked my sister if she had given it any water. My sister was like, "I'm not getting near it, I don't know what's wrong with it." The woman got a stick and prodded it until it got up and staggererd around, then got a cup of water and poured it on it's head.
When the police finally got there (it took four hours; I guess a dying deer isn't exactly a priority) she was telling them all about it, and looked at my sister and said, "SOME people don't care about animals. I LOVE deer. They make babies." Odd.
Personally, I thought prodding it around in the heat and pouring water on it's head wasn't exactly a nice thing to do. That woman prodded it around for probably three hours. Poor old deer.
Things have been lots quieter around our house. The leaves have started falling off the trees pretty good, and the girls filled several of those bags with jack-o-lantern faces on them. Anna sat on one and busted it, but they taped it back.
They're drawing now, and watching tv. Daddy wanted to watch the Parent Trap, to see how they did their doubles, because he's working on a bit of film with two Anna's. He made one last week, that I really wish I could put on youtube. It's SO cute. He's trying to get Anna to talk to herself like she's on the other side, but she doesn't want to, then he put them together and it's great. He hit the camera just at the end and that kind of messed it up. Our connection speed is too slow to put things on youtube. Hopefully by next month, though, we'll have faster service. Personally, I didn't think it was worth $20 extra for faster service, but he does. He's wanting to be able to put things online, so it's important to him.
