We're at the library for the after-school program. (I just heard one of the librarians invite a little boy over and his mom said, "We've got a pile of homework." Bleah.)
Anyway...
We cleaned up the backyard (brush and things) and had a bonfire last night. It was SUCH fun. Anna scared the heck out of me by walking around and around the fire, and I was SO afraid she'd fall in, but she didn't. I mostly managed not to freak out, although I reminded her several times that we need to be safe around fire, and that includes not risking tripping and falling in. When we ran out of marshmellows and the fire started to die down the girls went in to play a game and Daddy and I stayed out and talked for a while.
It was mostly out and we went in, then this morning about 5:30 it started smoldering and filled the house with smoke and woke us up. Daddy went out and poured a bucket of water on it, which quieted it down until about 1, then I went out and put dirt on it. I hate a fire that won't die. lol
But, anyway, we got rid of a huge pile of brush, and the backyard looks much, much better. I can see where the leaves need to be raked now...apparently I was remiss in my duties last fall.
I got four more books today at the library...the other three Frank B. Gilbreth books I'd ordered came in. Now I've got some reading to do! I won't be able to stop until they've been read...unless they're not interesting, in which case I won't be able to get past the first few pages. I'm funny that way. I simply CANNOT make myself read a boring book. (Good thing I'm not in school, isn't it?) lol
