Entry for February 03, 2008

We had SUCH a fun day today. The girls and I went to the park, and since there wasn't anyone there, I suggested we check out the geocache that's next to the park. I forgot that to get to it you have to wade a stream...talk about cold! I was wearing crocs, so I tossed them back across to Emma so she wouldn't have to wade barefooted, but Anna dropped one of her shoes in, and since they were already wet, she just wore them. There were quite a few really cool things in the cache...Emma wanted to go back to the van and get everything she could think of to trade, but we ended up just barely getting to trade because a muggle (geo-speak for a non-caching person) pulled up in his truck and sat and watched us for a little while. We did quite a bit of loud, "Oh, look at this moss, isn't it fascinating?" "Look at that moss over there, it's different." He finally left, and so did we. We went to the library and checked out a few books, then headed for home.
Emma wanted to stop and see if another cache was still where it used to be. It's next to a pond, so Anna and I tried feeding the fish while she went and found it. No fish ever appeared, but watching the ripples was nice.
When we came home Mom came by with a pile of granddaughters and wanted to know if the girls could go home with her, so they went up there for a couple hours.
Since they've been back they've: watched Star Trek, played computer games, played with the ferret (that's what they're doing now), and Anna worked on her "thing" for today. Emma spent some time drawing, too, while watching tv.
All in all, a fun, full day.
